A Wedding Proposal at the Temple of Apollo, Stourhead
On 8 October 2024 by adminInstinctive Images were asked by Guy to capture some memories from his surprise wedding proposal to his girlfriend at Stourhead where the world famous landscape garden is situated. The couple live in Denmark and were visiting family in Frome, Somerset albeit Guy had other big plans for the visit. Amjid and assistant Ish were pretending to be passers which Guy was in the know but girlfriend Nathalie was not until the plan got unveiled.
Guy said, “I chose Stourhead Estate over a year ago as it was the setting of a very dramatic scene from Nathalie’s favourite film, the 2005 version of Pride and Prejudice. I lured Nathalie into location by telling her that we were to meet a friend there. I went a bit OTT over the proposal because I know Nathalie is a romantic, and that wedding/proposal events are important to her. I’m exceedingly happy that I was able to make it a memorable surprise for her.”
Nathalie said, “I wish our story about meeting each other was more romantic, but we just met on a dating app. The first message was Guy asking about Generative Grammar. As a linguist, that was exactly the right way to get my attention. We quickly organised a coffee date and we ended up spending the entire afternoon talking – or perhaps mainly me talking about classical music. I completely missed all signs that Guy was hitting on me and after the date I was still unsure about Guy. However, on the second date, Guy swept me away and I haven’t looked back. We have had some difficulties being long distance for some time (especially during Covid) and coming from different cultures (Danes are much more direct than Brits), but every bump on the road has only made us closer.“
Here are a selection of photos they have agreed to add for this blog. Congratulations once again to Guy and Nathalie and thank you for choosing us to capture your very special moments.

A lovely review from the couple on Google:
“Amjid was great to work with and took a brilliant candid shot of my shocked fiancé as I proposed to her. He was helpful and prompt in communicating beforehand. We got some great impromptu photos afterwards which looked beautiful and professional. We’d recommend working with him.“
